Paving sealing

More and more people are asking for their block paved driveways or patios to be sealed in addition to cleaning. This is because there is now greater awareness of the benefits of sealing the paving rather than just cleaning.

We have outlined the steps below to give you an indication of what we do:-

Step 1: *The block paving is pressure cleaned to remove any surface growth such as weeds, moss or algae. This will clean off any dirt and grime that may have built up over time. Oil stains are treated and cleaned off at this stage.

Step 2: The block paving is left for a few days to completely dry out. Once the paving is dry, pure kiln dried sand is brushed over the surface and between the joints to stabilise it from any lateral movement.

Step 3: We then seal* the paving with Smartseal block paving sealers. This provides additional protection to the pavers to prevent them deteriorating over time.

Note: The block paving sealer is sprayed in two coats to ensure each individual block and sand is covered.

*The paving is pre-treated with weedkiller 5-7 days earlier to make the cleaning process easier.
